to emphasize is we have a unique opportunity to do something big. we have a chance to stabilize america's finances for a decade or 15 years or 20 years. fw we' if we're willing to seize the moment. what that would require is some shared acura fisacrifice and a approach that says we are going to make cuts in domestic spending. i have already said that i'm willing to take domestic spending down to the lowest percentage of our overall economy since dwight eisenhower. it also requires cuts in defense spending. and i've said that in addition to the $400 billion that we already cut from defense spending, we're willing to look for hundreds of billions more. it would require us taking on health care spending, that includes looking at medicare and finding ways that we can stabilize the system so that it is available not just for this generation, but future generations. and it would require revenues. it would require, even as we're asking the person who needs a student own loloan or the senio citizen or people, veterans who are trying to get by on the disability check, even as we're trying to mak

the forecast. wall street rallied. a big bucket of cold water was poured on wall street and the economy with the lackluster jobs. >> the economy added an average of 215,000 jobs per month in the previous three months so the anticipation was there. and it showed a stand still in june. what is it about june, do we know what happen? >> it's not just june. they went back and revised downward the prior month. they thought they had 57,000 jobs in may. it turned out it was 25,000. they got rid of it -- they revised away 45,000 additional jobs. we think there have been temporary blips in the economy, the greek situation, storms all through the south you were reporting on. you've had high gas prices and a whole lot of other things have been happening and that caused the economy to come to a stand still and hiring come to a stand still in may and june. we hope that's the case. >> you want to bring up an important thing that a lot of people don't hear about. you call it the real unemployment rate, the ratio of unemployed, discouraged workers and people working part time because they can't find ful

. you can see how big this complex is moving southeast at 20 miles per hour. and then there is another area that's just down to the south. it's around charles county, around king george county and it's moving toward areas like montrose and st. george island. the impact with this, frequent lightning, damaging winds, and definitely some downpours with this. so the atmosphere, that very humid air, is getting wrung out. flash flood warnings up for areas of northeastern montgomery county, for northern prince george's and anne arundel county. howard county, too, in baltimore. and to the south, for king george and for stafford county. and this goes up until about 6:30 or 7:00 or so. so remember, turn around, don't drown. we're seeing some awfully high rainfall rates out of these thunderstorms coming through. but it's definitely cooling us down. unofficially, up to the 91. now we're seeing temperatures in the 80s. and overnight, the first time they have dropped this low since early wednesday morning. i'll have more in a little bit. >> all right. thank you, veronica. >>> as norway mourns those
